The annual “best-of-DC-jazz” awards reported by the Washington D.C. City Paper came out today, naming categories ranging from “Artist of the Year” (which deservedly went to local super-stars, a cappella group Afro-Blue) to “Best Composer” (Lena Seikaly).  I’m honored to have been named “Best Percussionist”, sharing “best-of” honors with amazing musicians who I very much admire.  Thanks to Michael West for his constant support of the scene and great music in DC.
