His “Ivory & Steel” records featured some of the most progressive steel pannists of the generation alongside Monty’s soulful swing. Monty is nothing short of an institution, and it’s a great honor to help him celebrate 80 years this January at @jalcnyc

Last night in Rome I had the pleasure of listening to @rosariogiulianisax and his new project BRASS!, backdropped by the beauty of the ancient Colosseum. I first became acquainted with Rosario at a session for @lockevibes when he and @donnymccaslinmusic traded impossible lines on Joe’s “Love is Perpetual Motion” from the album Love is a Pendulum. It was a warm, clear Tuesday night… The sound was wonderful and the music was sublime. It was an unforgettable evening and a testament to how the arts COULD (and should) be treated in a society that cares. Bravo, Rosario!
